Reflection and Rebirth

Self-reflection by Tara Marie Louisa

In the immortal words of Britney Spears, “Oops, I did it again.” Once again, I bit off more than I can chew~ new blog, keeping up with old blog, writing a book, and starting up a new real estate brokerage with my husband. When on earth will I learn?

Luckily, Mercury in Retrograde and Ostara flung me into months of deep reflection, forcing me to face some blatant truths about myself and others in my life. Realizing those truths was not always easy. Many people in my life let me down. And, because I wasted so much time on those who never wanted to see me succeed, I let myself down.

When facing truths about myself, I had to fully admit I am a person who bores easily. In the beginning, I tend to throw myself body, mind, and soul into a project. Then, after about two years, I get bored, and begin new projects. So even if a project is successful, like my blog and business Paleo Cajun Lady, I simply lose interest. I continue to drag it along for a couple of years more, hoping for a reigniting of interest. But, in that time, I grow… I learn… I change.

Then, there was always the problem of me living in the broom closet. I thought creating this blog would be a great coming out for me. But, as I discovered, I would still have to hide from many people in my day to day life. Although many had suspicions that I was a witch, it was a totally different situation having me right in front of them, face to face. For awhile, it made me retreat back into the broom closet, except on Instagram, where I became even more bold. But, I still held back at times.

Lastly, I had to get a grip on the fact that I take on too much at one time. I always have so many things I want to accomplish. But, at the same time, I want to help others I love. Their needs have, for many years, come first. Doing for them has never left me enough time to accomplish all the goals I still want to attain. Couple that with the fact that none of them understand the creative process, and how much concentration it requires. Of course, I become the bad witch when refuse one of their desires.

Thank the Creator for the ushering in of Beltane, a season of rebirth. All that reflection, shedding of people and things that no longer served me, and emerging with a new plan, really tore me down. But, before rebirth, there must be destruction. From the rubble, on the cusp of my fiftieth year in this life, I have risen, with new purpose and a fire in my spirit.

What changes am I making? Well, I’ve decided to come out of the broom closet for good. I will be releasing my first witchcraft book very, very soon. I will announce release dates as soon as everything has been completed, including the printing. It is so important to me that I put out a book I can be proud of. Magic and Beauty, Magic and Wellness, and Magical Resources, will become new featured pages on this site. The information will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will be updated with new information consistently. The blog posts will be found under the Blog button in the main menu. These changes should all be in place by June.

Also, I plan to release two more books this year. Two may be a lofty goal. Hopefully the other changes I’ve implemented will allow me to attain this goal. My social media pages will keep you up to date on my progress and release dates.

As far as other changes, I will be deleting all of my Paleo Cajun Lady social media accounts, and downgrading the blog account. People will still be able to access the recipes they need. I simply won’t be posting blog posts on Paleo Cajun Lady anymore.

Over the next week, I will be having conversations with those closest to me. I will explain my goals, and that I need them to handle their own shit for awhile, while I work on my goals. If they truly do love me, they will understand and allow me the time to attain my goals. If they don’t, I may just have to hex them. LOL!

Does any of this resonate with you? I would love to know how you deal with these issues. Please leave a Comment with your suggestions. Or, if you have made interesting discoveries about yourself or others in your life, I would love to hear about that as well. Let’s help each other and lift each other up!

Blessings to you all!
